About
Bill joins the Hamilton Firm after spending 18 years practicing with firm focused primarily on defending insurance companies and their insureds. In that capacity, since 2007, Bill has represented a wide array of clients, both Plaintiffs and Defendants, involved in civil litigation. In the early part of his career, Bill’s practice focused chiefly on litigating Professional Negligence and Tort Liability claims. In the area of Professional Negligence, Bill has successfully defended healthcare providers (Physicians, Practice Groups, and Hospitals) and Attorneys. In the area of Tort Liability, he successfully defended numerous clients in motor vehicle accidents, trucking negligence, premises liability for hospitals and apartment complexes, and general liability claims for businesses, etc. His experience in these areas has helped him obtain numerous summary dismissals and defense verdicts at trial on behalf of his clients. As his career progressed, Bill’s practice areas expanded to representing clients in complex business litigation matters. In addition to his defense work, Bill’s practice areas have included representing Plaintiffs in a wide array of claims ranging from personal injury claims to sexual assault claims against multinational corporations. Through settlement or judgment at trial, Bill has recovered millions of dollars for his clients, including a judgment of over $4,000,000.00.
From his breadth of experience representing clients “on both sides of the v,” Bill possesses not only broad skill set, but a unique perspective on cases. This perspective, born from his experience representing both Plaintiffs and Defendants in all different kinds of lawsuits, allows Bill to understand the issues facing both sides in a lawsuit. Thus, in 2018, Bill added Mediation to his areas of practice. Since then, in his capacity as a Mediator, Bill has helped parties resolve disputes in personal injury cases, estate disputes, and complex business litigation.
Bill combines his experience and perspective with a dogged pursuit of justice for his clients. From his experience representing various insurance companies and their insureds, Bill knows how these companies evaluate and defend their cases and he uses that knowledge to help his clients achieve maximal outcomes in their particular case.
A native of Tullahoma, Bill and his wife, Cassie, live on Signal Mountain with their two children, Sadie and Cooper. When he is not at work, you are likely to find him on some sort of field on Signal coaching his kids and their friends.
